About LLMS
WELCOME TO LOS LUNAS MIDDLE SCHOOL!
Dear Los Lunas Middle School Families and Students,
Welcome to what is sure to be an incredible school year! As your Principal, it is an absolute honor to welcome back our returning Tigers and extend a warm greeting to the new faces joining our campus.
Here at LLMS, we have a culture of excellence, and we are entering this year with some massive wins under our belt. I want to take a moment to celebrate the hard work of our students, families, and staff that made this past year truly unforgettable.
Here is a look at what makes our community so special:
-
Stellar Academic Achievement: Our students have shown incredible growth! Thanks to their hard work and focus, we have seen outstanding academic achievement gains across the board. Our Tigers are proving that with dedication, there are no limits to what they can learn and achieve.
-
District-Leading Attendance: Excellence starts with showing up, and boy, did you show up! For the entirety of last year, LLMS secured the best attendance in the district, every single month. This is a massive testament to our students' commitment and the incredible support from you, our parents, in prioritizing education every day.
-
Our Dedicated and Amazing Teachers: None of this would be possible without our phenomenal staff. Our teachers are the heart and soul of LLMS. They work tirelessly to create safe, engaging, and challenging classrooms where every student can thrive. We are incredibly lucky to have the best educators in the business right here guiding our kids.
Our goal this year is simple: keep the momentum going. We will continue to push the boundaries of what our students can achieve academically, keep our attendance streak alive, and support one another every step of the way.
Thank you for your continued partnership, trust, and Tiger Pride. Let’s make this the best year yet!
Warmest regards,
Matt Pendrak, Middle School Principal

LLMS HISTORY
Starting in 1912, a four room brick building was built to support the gradually growing population of Los Lunas Schools. Enrollment increased rapidly after this, causing the need for two more classrooms to be added.
Starting in 1912, a four room brick building was built to support the gradually growing population of Los Lunas Schools. Enrollment increased rapidly after this, causing the need for two more classrooms to be added to the brick school building and a teacher was hired for each of the first eight grades. Enrollment for the high school was 150 students and 240 students in the grade school.
In 1935, 13 students graduated from the high school and 22 from the grade school. Currently, Los Lunas Middle School has an enrollment of 730 students and a total number of 38 teachers.
In the past few years, Los Lunas Middle School underwent a facelift in the form of renovations to each classroom and pod in the school. Each classroom received new carpet, cabinets, and a fresh paint job. The renovations also included becoming ADA compliant and a new commons area, complete with a new football field on the east side of the school grounds.
